Hello:
On the front page of The Hamilton Spectator today, Wednesday April 23, 2015, Susan Clairmont has written an article about another suicide by a member of the Hamilton Police Force.
One of the prevailing problems for these officers is the fact that in order to preserve their job they must put forward the appearance that they can handle the stress involved in such a job.
While they can avail themselves of the help of a Psychiatrist, they are still reluctant to divulge their most intimate fears because they believe that such a course of action would make things even more difficult for them.
As a Behavioral Consultant, rather than a registered Psychotherapist, I am able to listen to such intimate thoughts that these men and women grapple with inside their minds.
Since they can remain totally anonymous by giving me a false name in their internet or email messages with me; they will be able to tell me the truth without worrying about me being able to interfere with their work and their ability to look after their families as well as themselves.
The question then becomes simply this: Why should they think that I can help them? For one thing, there is some evidence that the taking of anti-depressive medication can increase the emotional motivation to think about and even act upon ideas about suicide.
What I am saying is that even though most if not all people think of such thoughts at one time or another, without the incidence of mind-altering drugs in their system, there is less chance that they will actually go ahead and end their lives.
Before you decide to respond to this letter, I suggest that you read my book called, --- The Human Mind. It can be accessed at the following link

Obviously my opinions on this subject, --- The Human Mind, --- are much different than that which the Psychiatric community is putting forward at this time. They think that it is mostly genetic and I think that it is mostly improper reactions to the emotion of fear.
It is up to you to decide whether or not you wish to follow the advice that I have to offer you. "There are too many hiders in this world and not enough seekers."
